Located just an 8-minute walk from Deal Train Station & a stones throw from the the iconic Deal Pier & beach, we first opened our doors in 2004 by passionate local chef Jim Cleaver, and after nearly 2 decades, we are beyond proud to have become a much-loved local favourite.
A published review by Jabin Ali at Inigo:
"81 Beach Street arguably has the best view of the Deal seafront – and its fare is just as impressive. Order the panko-breaded squid with lemon-and-saffron mayo to start, or the potted crab on charred sourdough. Then watch the sun set on the horizon as you finish with a peanut butter and banana parfait, or the lemon posset matched with thyme, pink gin and ginger."

81 Beach Street was opened in 2004, the aim being to create a great place to eat – a neighbourhood restaurant loved by the community. In our first year we were named “Kent’s Best Restaurant”.
Since then the business has grown considerably, in 2015 The Granville in Canterbury was acquired, 2017 came The Coastguard in St Margaret’s Bay and most recently, our 4th site, The Coach in Hacklinge. This has led to the creation of the owner company ‘Beach Street Restaurants Ltd’.
From just a team of 3, opening that door for the first time in 2004, to a team of nearly 100, our purpose has remained the same. A passion for great food, great service, and a belief that the only way to achieve both is by the best people working together.
We are always on the lookout for passionate people to bring their personalities to our Kent-based pubs & restaurants.
Whether you’re after a long-term career in hospitality or a part time job in a role you love, our teams are waiting for you to join them!
Give us a call if you can’t find the time you’re looking for, as we’ll always try our best to move things around! For parties of over 6 people, please book with us on the phone: 01304 368136
